Day 1

Day 1 - Wildlife Safari • Wineries • Museums

Spend your morning at Wildlife Safari in Winston, a 600-acre drive-through park where you will have close encounters with animals from all over the world. Be sure to spend some time in the Safari Village for special exhibits and wild animal shows. Have lunch at the White Rhino restaurant located in the village. To experience a taste of the emerging local wine industry, visit nearby Abacela, Spangler, Wild Rose, H.V. Cellars and Girardet wineries. On your way back to Roseburg, visit the award-winning Douglas County Museum of History and Natural History. Spend the remaining part of your afternoon visiting a few more of the local wineries, including Nonchalant, Delfino, Melrose Vineyards, Glaser, HillCrest, Teso'aria, Reustle Prayer Rock Vineyards, Becker, Pyrenees, Henry Estate and Misty Oaks. While in the area, you may want to drive to the Rochester Covered Bridge off Highway 138.
